Classical Piano Trio
The Dehner Franks Classical Trio features Piano, Cello and Violin and
performs regularly in the Puget Sound area. The Trio performs the music
of Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Klengel, Bolling and others. The Trio also
performs Contemporary Classical pieces as well as Secular arrangements
of popular tunes. Dehner works with some of the finest musicians in the
Seattle area from local Symphonies and Ensembles. This group will add a
touch of class to your event! As a Classical pianist Dehner is featured
regularly with the Everett Symphony; in January 1999 he was featured
in a debut performance of Claude Bolling's Sonata for Two Pianos at the
Governor's Chamber Music Series at the Governor's Mansion in Olympia;
and he is a regular performer on George Shangrow's radio show "Live By
George" on Seattle's Classic King FM.
Jazz Ensembles
Dehner performs with a number of Jazz Musicians in the area. The Jazz
Groups that he performs with range in size from Duos to Large Ensembles
with a variety of instruments and or vocalists. The Dehner Franks Trio
(consisting of Bass, Drums and Piano) has performed at such venues as
the Mount Hood Jazz Festival, the Port Townsend Jazz Festival,
Dimitrious' Jazz Alley in Seattle, The Opera House and at The Paramount
just to name a few. He works with a number of local artists of a high
caliber such as Singer, Greta Matassa; Drummer, Kenny McDugle (Drummer
for Kenny G.), Drummer, Brian Kirk (Drummer with the Pointer Sisters and
Jazz Instructor at Seattle Central ); Singer, Edmonia Jarrett,; Bassist,
Phil Sparks; Guitarist, Michael Powers and so many others. He provides
music for all occasions.
Musical Director / Arranger
Dehner has
been commissioned by Nordstrom to produce, arrange and perform the music
for their Holiday CD, released November 1999 and distributed throughout the
Nordstrom Corporation.
Additionally, he has been Musical Director for a number of Musical Productions
including Fats Waller's "Ain't Misbehavin'"; Louis Jordon's "Five Guys
Named Moe" both of which were extremely successful. Dehner received good
reviews from the Jazz Reviewer for the L.A. Times. In their July 14, 1998
review of the Ain't Misbehavin' run in Hollywood, CA. He is quoted as
saying, "Franks is a dependable accompanist...his solo passages executed
with brisk Waller-like Brio!" Dehner is also a regular at the Act Theater
in downtown Seattle performing as both arranger and accompanist for
several of their musical performances. In addition to these productions he
has been the accompanist and the arranger for several musical productions
including; Arranger/Performer with the Everett Symphony Orchestra;
Producer/Arranger/Accompanist for several performances of local singers
both Classical singers as well as Jazz Vocalists; Musical
Producer/Arranger for CD projects for some of Seattle's leading local
artists and he has written and arranged musical charts for several small
musical groups in various musical styles. He is also the Choir Director
for a Seattle church which he has attended for the past 11 years.
Solo Piano
Dehner has performed solo piano for the past 20 years and he has
developed an extensive repertoire for solo piano. His repertoire
consists of thousands of songs all played from memory with grace and
mastery. He has been featured as a solo pianist in performances with the
Seattle Bach Choir; the Choir of the Sound, The Port Townsend Jazz
Festival, the Everett Community Theater, Jazz Alley and countless
musical shows, concerts and venues world-wide. A quote from the Seattle

Easy Listening Jazz Ensemble
This group performs easy listening arrangements with diverse
instrumentation and optional vocals. Some of the music this group
features are pieces by George Gershwin; Cole Porter; Jerome Kern;
Rodgers and Hammerstein; The Beatles; Burt Bacharach; Stevie Wonder;
Celine Dion; Mariah Carey; Whitney Houston and much more. This ensemble
is excellent for background music or for dancing. This group will make
your event most memorable.
